Congratulations to the 2009 Winners
The Granville Kiwanis Club is pleased to announce
the winners of the 2009 Fourth of July Photography Contest. Thank you to the many judges within
the community who participated and thanks to Kussmaul Gallery for receiving
entries.
The winning entries were creative, artistic
and highlighted the spirit of Granville during the Annual Fourth of July Celebration.
Visitors and natives of
Granville were amongst the winners. All winners have been notified by mail.
The winning photos will be on display
throughout Granville during the year in a traveling exhibit. Park National Bank is displaying
select photographs during the month of November 2009.

Winners were honored at a dinner at the Granville Inn, on Monday November 9th at 6:15 PM. Selected photographs will be on display at Park National Bank during the month of November.
We appreciate the photographers who participated and hope they will compete again next year. Details of the contest will be posted at this website before July 4th, 2010.
Thank you to the 15 judges within the Club and community who helped complete this contest.

GRANVILLE FOURTH OF JULY PHOTO COMPETITION
2009 Entry Rules
1. All residents and visitors to Granville are eligible to participate, including members of The Kiwanis Club of Granville.
2. Photographs must be
a. the original work of the entrant
b. taken in Granville, Ohio.
3. The photographs must be submitted as
a. an unmounted 8x10 inch print (portrait or landscape),
b. and, if possible, a digital version on CD with high resolution, e.g. 300-600 dpi, for publicity and reproductions as indicated below. File may also be emailed to photo@granvillekiwanisclub.org.
4. Each entry must have attached to it:
a. title of the work,
b. complete name of the photographer,
c. e-mail address and/or phone number of the photographer,
d. and category.
5. Entrants may submit one photograph from the current 2009 Granville Fourth of July Celebration in each of the following categories.
a. People b. Parade c. Entertainment d. Granville
6. Entrants may also submit one photograph from a 2008 or earlier Granville Fourth of July Celebration in each of the following categories.
a. People b. Parade c. Entertainment d. Granville
7. Each individual entry must be accompanied by an official entry form completed and signed by the entrant.
8. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be presented in each category, as well as a “Best of Show” award. Individual entrants may be presented a maximum of one award. An indefinite number of “Honorable Mentions” will be named.
9. Award winners will be announced in the Granville Sentinel and at a reception at the Granville Inn in August 2009. Photographs will be displayed in downtown Granville in a public setting to be announced, and may be displayed in additional locations at other future events.
10. Photographs will not be returned. By signing the entry form and submitting it, entrants are agreeing to grant The Kiwanis Club of Granville use of the photographs in displays related to the contest and in other printed and electronic publications. Efforts will be made to credit the entrant when possible.
11. Entries will be judged on artistic expression, creativity, originality, and the quality of the image. All decisions of the judges are final. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not conform to the stated contest rules and criteria. Winners may be contacted and asked for more information about the winning entries.
12. Deadline for entries: 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2009.
13. Hand deliver entries to Kussmaul Gallery in downtown Granville, or mail to: The Kiwanis Club of Granville, PO 133, Granville OH 43023.
